Vacation over…
Posted by: | CommentsThis is not a render 🙂 but a happy moment in Corfu Greece. It’s also not blender related – I must admit I didn’t even think of Blender while taking the picture – but wanted to let people know I’m back from my vacation and share a bit of sea blue with anyone needing it.
I should be working already but I have been feeling really and unusually weary today, maybe something related to the flight?
Hope I’ll feel better tomorrow as I have been keeping an eye on Blender guru’s Nature academy teasers and I have a mind to join in if budget allows (price has been a great mystery up to now).
Image reference in the new 2.58 Blender release
Posted by: | CommentsFirst an admiring nod at the new splash screen:
The new Blender 2.58 release comes with a new tiny but useful feature, “empty image display”
Currently blending – summer thoughts
Posted by: | CommentsWe”ll be off to a one week seaside vacation on Monday so I don’t feel like starting a brand new blend. Instead –Â after looking at tons of pictures of seaside resorts in search of accommodation – I thought of reviving and revamping an older test of a simple house with a swimming pool:
Right now the image is a bit flat, textures are almost invisible and there is not much detail to it but i think it offers a nice blank canvas.
Modeling walls with the solidify modifier
Posted by: | CommentsLast week I was doodling something to use solidify on, I didn’t go too far on details or materials and it came out like this:
When modelling for architectural visualisation in Blender you don’t want to miss the solidify tool. It is a precision tool and replaces for me the simple offset function any cad software has and Blender still lacks. I was happy to find it has been improved with the new Blender release and upgraded from the mesh menu to the modifiers panel with some extra useful settings.
Quickstart help
Posted by: | CommentsBlendermama doesn’t have a beginners page right now since all my beginner’s efforts were made for Blender 2.49 and never got to upgrade them. I really like visual, to the point and well organised materials so I loved this page you might have noticed on Blendernation a few days ago: Blender Quickstart so I’ll just post the link here. I will certainly use it as inspiration for my Blender-archviz-quickstart page when I get there.
