Just talking
Posted by: | CommentsWhat is THAT? you will ask. Well nothing exactly, I was playing around a bit to unwind after “serious work”. I opened Alchemy, a fun random drawing software I sometimes use for “doodling”. When an interesting shape took form, I saved it as svg, opened it in Inkscape to clean it a bit, then in Blender. It imported as a planar curve object, so I converted it to mesh, made a random selection of vertices and moved it around a bit and got this. Not particularly useful in real life projects but I needed an image at the top of my post to draw your attention 🙂

Blender addon for creating parametric windows
Posted by: | CommentsI tested this on Blender 2.61 as soon as I saw it on Blendernation despite the decision I had made to stay away from work a few days and tidy up the house before New Year.
Blender Window Generator Script from DragonLEE on Vimeo.
Seems to work well and I was astonished such a tool can pop up just like that… Santa must have something to do with it 😉

Blender 2.6 is here
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s a bit strange, as the Blender 2.6 release came out, few visible changes are to be noticed, and I think that was a bit disappointing for those who thought this was the much expected B-mesh and Cycles release. Actually these great new features will be added in the December 2.61 release. I think the major feature in this release is the Chinese interface, as suggested by the cool splash image 🙂
Actually Blender 2.6Â is a “fine tuning” release that tries to fix and finish all the new stuff that has been tested in the 2.5 series. New features are more difficult to spot but I have read the release notes and have found a couple of things that interested me.
