Blender UV and Generated mapping in architectural visualisation
Posted by: | CommentsMapping a texture on an object means arranging the way a texture assigned to the object covers it, its scale and orientation. For me it’s like pasting wallpaper to something, or gift wrapping, only 3d has a few more options like scaling and repeating and, of course, “undo” 🙂
Blender Wiki improved
Posted by: | CommentsReally nice surprise, the Blender Wiki pages look much more organised and updated and easy to read. There are different release wiki parts and I think much has been added to the current 2.5 version. There are also many translated pages.

Posted by: | CommentsI have started on a new personal project just to practice all sorts of stuff I’ve learned during the past months. Also, my Blender gallery badly needs improvement.
It is a small house but I plan to add more detail and insert it in a nice “lake at dusk” scene.

Sometimes weird projects throw themselves my way. A friend needed a nice image of a recycling bin so I thought I could easily model one for him.
Bump and reflection artifact spotted

However, setting the Best Quality bump mapping for a material that gets reflected results in weird artifacts in the reflected image.
